The strain was first described in 1906 as Stropharia Cubensis by Franklin, who found it in Cuba. Narcisse Theophile identified it as Naematoloma in Tonkin, Saskatchewan a year later. In 1941, William Alphonso Murrill named it Stropharia Cyanescens in Florida. Finally, in the mid-1980s, it was given its current name and classification of Psilocybe Cubensis. Overall, the Golden Teacher strain’s distinctive golden cap has contributed to its identification and popularity over the years.
Research has suggested that psilocybin mushrooms, including the Golden Teacher strain, may have potential therapeutic benefits for a range of conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and addiction. However, more research is needed before these potential benefits can be fully understood.
